Rick Sanchez fan art from the 'Rick and Morty' show.
I'm a huge fan of Rick and Morty so I decided to make a more realistic version of Rick. My first try doing Rick was back in 2016 when I was learning Blender, but after some time struggling with it, I dropped the project. In 2021 I started it again with more experience, but after some time working on it I had to step back for some reasons, like lack of time and motivation. But in the las few months I found some energy to retake it and now I'm glad that its finished. I learned a lot of things from this project, but the most important thing was learning how to manage long projects with personal time.
The project initially began in Maya/Arnold for the lookdev, but later I migrated the entire project to Blender. This was a good opportunity to learn the new Hair system with Geometry Nodes and also to test the new AgX Color Space (currently in beta). The difference between Filmic and AgX under saturated lighting conditions is huge!
I also want to thank my friends for all the support and feedback during the project!
Hope you like it!
